Known accessibility issues
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of the Perrier-Jouët website, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations based on the technical audit performed by Datawords, organized by the 4 WCAG principles:
1. Perceivable
Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive.
- Text Alternatives: Some non-decorative images do not have appropriate alternative text.
- Multimedia: Some video content may lack synchronized captions or audio descriptions.
- Contrast: Some text elements do not meet the minimum contrast ratio requirements against their background.
2. Operable
User interface components and navigation must be operable.
- Keyboard Accessible: Some interactive elements (scripts, menus) are not fully functional via keyboard navigation.
- Navigable: The focus order is not always logical, and the keyboard focus indicator may be missing on certain elements.
- Link Purpose: Some links do not have a descriptive purpose (e.g., empty links or vague labels).
3. Understandable
Information and the operation of user interface must be understandable.
- Input Assistance: In some forms, labels are not correctly associated with their input fields.
- Predictability: Some interface components may behave unpredictably when receiving focus.
4. Robust
Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents.
- Parsing: The HTML code contains some syntax errors or non-standard nesting that may impact parsing by screen readers.
- Status Messages: Some dynamic content updates may not properly communicate their status to assistive technologies.
Assessment approach
Champagne Perrier-Jouët assessed the accessibility of the website by the following approaches:
- External evaluation: The website underwent a full compliance audit performed by Datawords. The audit was based on the RGAA 4.1 reference (French government standard), which is technically mapped to WCAG 2.1 AA specifications.
