Choose the right venue
The first element to consider is where the party will take place! Consider how much space you will need depending on the number of guests you want to invite.
If you are hosting at your place, think about how to arrange your furniture to provide a buffet area, a space for your sound system, a few seating areas and a large dance floor.
Is your house or flat too small to celebrate New Year’s Eve with your guests? Why not book a venue? Privatizing a room in a restaurant or bar is another option to consider. When selecting your venue, take into account the location, the size of the place (adapted to the number of guests) and the services included.
Pick your
Festive New Year’s Eve décor
To set the party mood, nothing beats choosing a theme! Think about the decorative elements you could use and the little touches your guests could wear. In this case, remember to mention the chosen theme on your invitations, to ensure that everyone has time to find the right accessories!
When it comes to New Year’s Eve decorations, don’t forget that subdued light is best for dancing. With very little lighting, it might be enough to simply hire a disco ball and arrange your Christmas lights differently to add a festive touch to your home.
Curate your music
Another important step in organizing your New Year’s Eve party is the choice of music. Whether you hire a band, a DJ or create your own playlist, remember to focus on festive beats to set the mood!
Also be sure to organize your midnight toast in advance. After the countdown to midnight and once everyone has toasted with champagne, choose the right song that will get the party back on track – the one that gets everyone dancing!
During the evening, you can allocate time to each style of music that you and your guests enjoy. And to end your New Year’s on a high, choose some loveable old hits which no-one can resist!
Think about food and drinks
Have you thought about which food you will serve your guests for New Year’s Eve? If you have carefully chosen your champagne, your dishes should showcase rather than mask or alter its subtle aromas.

Prefer not to cook or don’t have time? Why not choose a caterer or private chef?
Consider entertainment
To entertain your guests and keep the New Year’s party going, the music is important but it’s not the only aspect to consider.
Why not organize a name that tune contest, create a photobooth area or even a champagne blind tasting: who will be able to tell the difference between a brut champagne, a blanc de blancs and a rosé?
Plan a Champagne toast
The highlight of New Year’s Eve is of course the countdown to midnight and the champagne toast. To ensure the night runs smoothly, make sure you organize this important moment beforehand with whoever is in charge of the service and music: ensure that everyone has a glass of champagne, indicate when the music should stop, think about what you want to say before starting the countdown… then just after the toast, get the evening going again with the song you have chosen to liven up your New Year’s Eve party!
How to serve Champagne
Here are a few tips to offer a champagne toast:
● Store your bottles of champagne in the fridge, at a temperature between 46 °C and 50 °C.
● Rather than a flute, choose wine glasses with a rounded shape and a closed rim, ideal for tasting champagne.
● Serve champagne carefully, in a slow, steady manner. Pour it close to a tilted glass to favor the formation of a delicate ring of bubbles.
● The champagne should be poured in two or three stages, each separated by a few seconds to give the bubbles time to form.
● Glasses should only be filled two thirds of the way to allow the aromas and flavors to develop.
How to store Champagne
After toasting during your New Year's Eve party, re-cork your champagne with a champagne stopper (which you can find in stores), and place in the fridge.
