at London Design Festival 2015
Perrier-Jouët has commissioned mischer’traxler to create a bespoke installation for London Design Festival.
Champagne House Perrier-Jouët have commissioned Viennese design duo, mischer’traxler to create a bespoke installation for London Design Festival to be housed at London’s V&A Museum. mischer’traxler have entitled the installation ‘Curiosity Cloud’ The installation comprises of 250 mouth-blown glass globes hanging within the V&A’s famous Norfolk House Music Room. Within each globe, a variety of species of hand fabricated insects flutter.
‘Curiosity Cloud’ has been inspired by the original Art Nouveau Perrier- Jouët Belle Epoque bottle design which was created in 1902 by leading Art Nouveau protagonist Emile Gallé. Having already developed the bottle design for the ‘Small Discoveries project’ which saw them decorate the bottle with Art Nouveau insect motifs, mischer’traxler conceived the concept of surrounding the bottles in a ‘swarm’ of insects.
