Perrier-Jouët Bi-Centenaire

INTRODUCTION
2011. Perrier-Jouët celebrates a passion and legacy built up over 200 years.
Perrier-Jouët's legacy, vineyards and cellars have been handed down from generation to generation. So has the spirit of the House, with its values, expertise and the style of its wines.
Today, Perrier-Jouët makes a date with future generations and revealing "the first living legacy champagne to be passed on to future generations". An elegant way to bequeath an experience, an emotion, surpassing the years and decades.
For Perrier-Jouët, it is an incredible act of faith in its own excellence, for its best vintages have matchless ageing potential and are a challenge to time itself.

Perrier-Jouët Bi-Centenaire.
The first champagne to be passed on to future generations.
The first champagne to be passed on to future generations.

An invitation to bequeath a legacy untouched by time.

Two magnums of the legendary
Belle Epoque Cuvée.
1998: A vintage with matchless ageing potential.
"A wine of pure elegance that expresses an unbelievable wealth of aromas and freshness. Alive with a pure, mineral energy, it has all the marks of a wine with a long and happy future ahead of it." — Hervé Deschamps, Cellar Master

A diptych sculpture, linking the generations.
To celebrate the Perrier Jouët Bicentenary, Daniel Arsham, one of the most promising artists of his generation, created this work of art.
"Perrier Jouët was a true inspiration: the vines, the cellars, the detail of Emile Gallé's flower, the Art Nouveau references... all these things are about length of time, about making something and then handing it down. I interpreted the idea of a chalk cellar to depict the passage of time through erosion." — Daniel Arsham, Artist

The story of the first magnum takes place in the present day.

And the second magnum is preserved by Perrier-Jouët in a private cellar to be passed on as a legacy for up to one hundred year.
In the heart of Perrier-Jouët's chalk cellars, a secret place specially set apart, where the 100 magnums of Belle Epoque 1998 are stored in optimal conditions for a period of up to one hundred years.
This cellar is an invitation to contemplation and emotion, where time takes on its full meaning by bringing people closer.
